Parent Code of Conduct
LCV Youth Tackle Football cherishes the ideals of sportsmanship, fair play, grace in victory and defeat, and the personal development of character are the best results that youth sports have to offer. To this end, members, coaches, players, or parents will not tolerate unsportsmanlike conduct.
Where unsportsmanlike conduct is defined as, BUT NOT LIMITED TO: name-calling, bullying, harassment (in person, email, social media, or text), bribes, rudeness, threats, demands, inappropriate language, racial or racist comments, and anything that creates an unsafe, hostile, intimidating, or offensive, environment for coaches, parents, members, children, or directors.
Any of the above is grounds for immediate dismissal from the program at the discretion of the coaches, staff, and board.
We have a zero-tolerance policy and expect behavior that allows for a safe and positive experience.
- I hereby pledge to provide positive support, care, and encouragement for my child participants, coaches, and officials.
- I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all participants, coaches, and officials.
- I will do my best to make this program fun for my child.
- I will keep winning in perspective. A child usually forgets the outcome of the game; it is the adults that have a tendency to stress the win/loss record.
- I will ask my child to treat other participants, coaches, officials, parents, and spectators with respect regardless of race, age, sex, creed, or ability.
- I will treat officials and coaches with respect. They are there to provide your child with a safe and healthy learning environment. Officials and coaches deserve the same type of environment from the parents and spectators.
- I will strive to be a good role model for my child and the other children in the program. I will encourage my child to learn to lose with dignity and win with grace.
- I will respect my child’s coach and do my best to have my child at all practices and games on time.
- I will recognize the importance of volunteer coaches and realize they are important to the development of my child and the program.
- I will communicate with coaches and staff and support their decisions.
- If I feel my child’s safety has been put at risk, I will contact the board directly. At the board’s convenience, a meeting will be scheduled for both parties.
- I will never be in a conversation with a coach from the stand or the sidelines of a game or practice unless there is an emergency.
- I understand that playing time during games will vary and is not always equal. If I feel like my child is not getting adequate playing time, I will bring it to the coaches in a positive and friendly manner.
- I understand that my behavior or my child’s behavior can result in temporary or permanent suspension. No refund will be given for the suspension of a parent or child.
